My Barking Bestie is a small family run business out of Newcastle, Ontario since October 2024.  We primarily make freeze dried dog treats and freeze dried food toppers in shaker bottles.  Do cats bark?  No they don't, but they purr when they're happy and they love our salmon and chicken shakers.  

We always look locally first to source our ingredients.  We buy our Chicken Hearts from Peterborough and Omemee, our beef liver from Newtonville, our 100% pumpkin puree is made in Chatham.  When ingredients aren't available from local farms, we source them from grocers in the Durham region.  In all cases, we prepare, freeze dry and package all products in Newcastle! 

Being a small business and doing all of the production and packaging ourselves, we have the flexibility to introduce new products quickly.  We have a long list of ideas that include freeze dried cheese, yogurt and more.  We also rely and encourage our partners to give us feedback on our current product line up and to recommend changes and updates.  

We focus on single and minimal ingredient dog treats so families can feel good about giving healthy treats to their four legged family members.  To drive home the point, we often tell customers that to make our bags of Raw Beef Cubes we buy a roast, slice it up ourselves and freeze dry it.  An example of our minimal ingredient treats is our pumpkin and oatmeal cubes.  The ingredients are simply 100% pure pumpkin puree and ground oatmeal.  We keep things simple.  

We are also flexible when it comes to shipping and deliveries to our partners.  We can sell our products anywhere within Canada and will happily consider free shipping and delivery with minimum order quantities.
